    Relax Scottie. They're cute. Laughing

If you open the trunk on the BMW instead of a shotgun and an AR (or an SA80), 37 clowns will pop out.

We're moving in the same direction, they are just a little bit ahead of us. With all the trafic saftey crap comming out now. ALOT of departments require their cops to wear the reflective vests whenever they exit thier car for traffic stops. The back of ambulances and firetrucks are already starting to look like that. Its comming, saftey issues. Personally I'd welcome it, makes the bastards easy to see.

Why do they call the one a "panda" car?

They look cool BTW, wish we had BMW cop cars over here.

Heres a Link to a wiki page that gives all the info and a quote which describes the use of a panda car. The term came from when the first police cars were bought, they were white with black squares so they looked sort of like a panda. The cars will also differ from force to force. Our local one is Strathcyle Police which is the largest in Scotland and one of the largest in Britain. I must say that I would love to be a traffic officer being able to drive all the fast cars like the beemers and mercs. Though I would rather drive the unmarked cars so they can't see you, they even have an unmarked new Subaru Imprezza that patrols the motorways.

The phrase panda car refers to a small or medium-sized police car operated by British police forces. They are used for ordinary patrol work, with larger and more powerful vehicles being used for emergency response, Road Policing Unit duties and as Armed Response Vehicles
